INTRODUCTION | STUDIO

For me the fascination with the ceramic sculpture lies on the possibility to use even graphical expression on the piece through the colours of the glazes, oxides, smoke etc.

I constantly seek for new materials to interpret of my creativity and imagination. I like pushing the boundaries of the traditions.

The air is my element; the air between the solid, the movement, the rhythm, the dimension outside the existence of the sculpture. All of this and the position of the observer create the piece of art.

In my products I deliberately leave an unfinished touch. This contributes to my idea; not to “kill the material”. The material has to have a chance to live, giving sensuality to the work.

After working over ten years with the clay and welded iron I began to use even the techniques of bronze casting. This is a method, which gives me a possibility to build my objects from a huge variety of materials, before they are casted in to a final piece. Nowadays my sculptures are even of carved stone, a very resistant material giving a new dimension to my work of art.

As for many artists, I suppose, the reason for my works is to express my emotions. The modern life with its virtualized environment tends to distract us from our spiritual needs. With my art I hope people can reflect their inner life. The art is made to move the observers thoughts and profound feelings.

“I´m out to fool the mind, rather than the eye”, as Pablo Picasso expressed it. In the same way I try to move the spirit in ones heart.
