Anna-Maija Reés is born in Helsinki, Finland.

Since 1995 Anna-Maija has had a Raku-studio in Hallaröd, in the South of Sweden. 1998 she opened her own studio in San Pedro Alacántara in Spain. She has had collective and private exhibitions in several European countries since 1994.

1996 she participated in the 5 IRIS international Ceramics Seminar in Porvoo, Finland. She has had the privilege to visit Thaulow Atelier at Cité des Internationale de Art in Paris and experience the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard at the Artist Hut near the North Pole.

Her works are represented in public and private collections in Spain, France, Germany, UK, Norway, Sweden, Finland and USA.

  • 1975 apprentice to the artist K. Nurmisalo-Tuominen
  • 1976 art school, Vapaa Taidekoulu-Fria Konstskolan, Helsinki
  • 1977 economic studies at the University of Lund, Sweden
  • 1978-82 studies of architecture at University of Lund, Institute of Technology
  • 1982 Master of Architecture, Examiner Prof. Hans Asplund
  • 1994-96 ceramic studies at the Musik- und Kunstschule, Lübeck, Germany
